Mant people thing they need a great guitar, amplifier and effetcts to play inredible guitar that touches your very heart. But the truth is its all in you, digging deep to pull out the emotion and soul into your fingers. Sure you have to learn the basic note first, but you need to learn to feel what each note does and how it effects you first. Once you can do that it makes putting them together much easier. The great blues players of the past in most cases had no lessons, they learned guitar by feel. They heard the notes and made them feel the way they did. Once you can feel the basic patterns you can close your eyes and let your sould pour out onto the strings. Blues guitar doesn’t come from playing someone elses solo note for note, and it doesn’t come from playing as fast as you can. it comes from deep inside you. Even though the basic blues scale is easy to learn making it sounds lie great blues comes from within.

I’ve seen many guitarists playing the blues and so many think they need to play fast to impress people, Its not just the notes you play, its also the notes you leave out, the pauses, the vibrato and the bending of notes that creates blues from the blues scale. You could spend a life time playing blues guitar and still find new things to play that moves you  deep inside. thats the beauty of  the blues.
